A typical flow of our 2-hour class

Changing / Intro to Kendo (15 min)
An introduction to kendo: its history, spirit, and rules.
Learn how scoring requires the alignment of spirit, sword, and body (kiken-tai ichi).
Etiquette & Bowing (15 min)
Learn why we bow and how to do it properly.
Ki – spirit Practice (10 min)
Develop strong spirit and presence. Without correct spirit, one cannot “cut.”
Tai – Footwork Practice (10 min)
Practice sliding footwork (suri-ashi), moving smoothly while staying grounded.
Ken – Grip & Swing Practice (15 min)
Learn how to hold the sword correctly and practice swings.
Understand the importance of the tip and the mental duel before striking.
Striking Practice (20 min)
Combine spirit, footwork, and proper swing (ki-ken-tai) to deliver strong strikes.
Mock Matches / Sparring (15 min)
Experience sparring with other participants and face the instructor.
Demonstration by a Kendo Master (10 min)
Watch a live demonstration of advanced kendo techniques.
Certificate Presentation (5 min)
Receive your completion certificate.

Our most common group size is around 40 participants.
With advance consultation, we may be able to accommodate groups of various sizes, depending on availability and venue options.

Yes. Kendo is known to have a lower injury rate compared to many other sports, and safety is always our top priority.
Our programs are carefully designed for beginners, with clear instructions, controlled movements, and close supervision.
In addition, two of our kendo instructors are certified in advanced first aid and emergency response, so you can participate with confidence.
Nothing is required.
We provide uniforms, armor, bamboo swords, towels, and equipment.
Your group can join completely hands-free.
Absolutely. We regularly welcome women, seniors, and mixed-age groups.
The program is adjusted to match your group’s comfort and ability level.
Yes, it is. Guests are welcome to take photos and videos during the experience.
We can also provide photo and video services.
For small groups, the experience is usually held at the Kendo Spirit dojo.
For larger groups, we arrange a suitable larger dojo or venue within Tokyo’s 23 wards.

Yes. Observers may watch from a safe area.
All sessions are indoors, so weather does not affect the program.
Payment can be made by bank transfer or credit card.
It depends on your group size.
For small to medium groups, we may still be able to accept last-minute requests depending on availability.
However, for large groups of 100 to 200+ participants, we kindly ask that you contact us at least six months in advance so we can secure the venue, staff, and equipment.
