The Invisible Heart of Japan
What we hope to share through kendo is the heart of the Japanese people.
For generations, the Japanese people have valued respect and consideration for others, expressing those values through etiquette and manners. By learning the form, one learns the spirit behind it. By learning the spirit, one continues to learn. Bushido is one expression of the Japanese heart, shaped through this continuous process of learning and refinement.
Kendo is a living tradition that carries this spirit into the present day.
A kendo experience is not simply an opportunity to observe Japanese culture. It is an opportunity to step into a cultural tradition that has been passed down and refined across generations.
