Authentic Kendo Experience in Tokyo

Your Journey into Japan's Martial Heritage Begins Here

Daichi
Co-founder / Lead Instructor at Kendo Spirit

About Me

My name is Daichi, and I’ve been practicing Kendo since I was five years old.

For me, Kendo has always been more than just a martial art. It’s a path — a way to train the body, discipline the mind, and grow as a person. I practiced every week through childhood and high school, eventually becoming runner-up in the Osaka Prefectural Tournament. But what mattered most wasn’t the result — it was what Kendo taught me about focus, humility, and inner strength.

In 2022, I had the chance to work on a luxury cruise ship, visiting countries all around Europe and the Middle East. During that time, I met many people who were deeply curious about Japan and the samurai. But I realized something — very few had experienced real Kendo. Not a show. Not a performance. The real thing.

That’s why I created Kendo Spirit.

I wanted to build a place where people from all over the world could truly experience what Kendo means — not just how to swing a sword, but how to carry the spirit of the samurai in everyday life. Through our sessions, I teach not only techniques, but also important concepts like “Rei” (respect), “Ki-Ken-Tai-no-Ichi” (unity of spirit, sword, and body), and the mindset behind every strike.

I speak English and always aim to create a welcoming space for everyone — whether you’re completely new to martial arts or already experienced. My goal is to make your time at Kendo Spirit meaningful, memorable, and maybe even life-changing.

Let’s train together — not just to learn Kendo, but to discover something deeper within ourselves.

“Kendo is not just about hitting. It’s about how you live, how you think, and how you face yourself.”
